Treating Skin Conditions For Long Term Results
At Healthy Skin Clinic we understand that most skin conditions are triggered by internal imbalances. Many of these imbalances relate to nutrient imbalances and immunity issues which trigger an allergy response. Diet and lifestyle can contribute to the skins problems.
1. Identifying and correcting dietary and lifestyle issues that may be contributing to your skin problem;
2. Identifying and treating underlying health problems and prescribing natural supplements to assist with attaining optimal health and balance;
3. Providing topical agents, especially formulated for your skin condition and the needs of the individual to rapidly improve the way the skin looks and feels. In the case of eczema reducing the itch is a priority.
Testing for Specific Triggers of Eczema
Your skin care specialist may recommend that you have some tests done. Tests provide the practitioner with specific information about you that will help to ‘fine tune’ your eczema treatment program.
We recommend Food Intolerance Testing and Oligoscan. Both of these are in house tests which provide you with results within the hour. Oligoscan will identify heavy metals and nutrient imbalances that contribute to immunity issues and allergy. Food Intolerance Testing measures the response to 57 different foods.
Other Functional Pathology Test can be ordered by your practitioner.
Your Eczema Treatment Program
Following your consultation you will be given an individualized Skin Treatment Program. This will recommend specific changes to diet and lifestyle plus contain your prescription for oral and topical products.
As part of your treatment you will be given access to the Healthy Skin Clinic Membership Site. This fantastic resource will assist you with your healing journey by providing you with supportive information that goes hand in hand with your eczema treatment. For example, information about diet, nutrients, gut health, eczema research, a Stress Management Program and much more.
Access to this fabulous resource is free of charge following your consultation.
Eczema is commonly known as atopic dermatitis or atopic eczema. The term “atopy” refers to allergies and for this reason a natural eczema
treatment must address the triggers of allergy. Eczema most commonly occurs
in babies and young children. Adults can also suffer from eczema but the appearance can vary from that found in babies and children and is usually much widespread. Eczema is usually itchy and signs of scratching of the skin are common.
Allergies and EczemaTreatment
Eczema is linked to readily correctable nutritional deficiencies that makes the person with eczema, prone to allergies. In particular there can be raised IgE antibodies to things such as foods, pollens, grasses, dust mites, animal danders to name but a few.There are 100’s if not thousands of food and environmental allergens. Many allergens are airborne (e.g. pollen) which often makes them very difficult to avoid. Most people who have problems with allergy have an imbalance of the immune response which makes them more prone to a reaction to these triggers.
During your Skin Consultation with the natural Skin Specialist, we will discuss how the immune response triggers allergy related problems such as eczema and what natural eczema treatments will help you.
The Eczema Diet
There is no “one size fits all” eczema diet. There are around 12 commonly known
foods that have been linked to eczema and allergies. Once you have had your face-to-face or online Skin Consultation you will be given access to the Healthy Skin Clinic Membership Site where you can access;
- dietary information
- several different testing methods for food allergy or intolerances
- a Challenge Diet
If you have had an Oligoscan or Food Intolerance Testing done, you will have more precise dietary recommendations.
How To Achieve Rapid Eczema Relief
Fortunately there are several known natural Practitioner Only Products that your Skin Specialist has
access to that effectively help to soothe the skin. As imbalances of the immune system can be related to eczema, a natural eczema treatment will seek to return the body to homeostasis, assist with immunity, decrease inflammation and replenish any mineral deficiencies.
Some types of eczema are dry however sometimes eczema can be weepy due to infection. An effective topical treatment for eczema should contain ingredients that help to:
- reduce the risk of infection
- improve the skin barrier
- provide moisture when the skin is dry
- soothe the skin
- reduce IgE antibodies.
NOTE: Creams and oral supplements to help improve the appearance of eczema are only available after a Skin Consultation with a natural Skin Specialist.
